Playfullness in a Bali temple

This temple has, unusually, an 11 tier meru (pagoda) and is considered the most important temple in Bali by rice farmers. There is a version of this temple in most rural temples in Bali.

Unusually visitors are not asked to wear a sarong here like in every other temple in Bali.

Bedugal temple Pura Ulun Danu Bratan ceremony

Ceremony day

This temple is about an hours drive from the coastal tourist strip, and has a beautiful park for relaxing in, restaurants, as well as a playground for the kids.

Close by the Bali tree top adventure park and the Bali Botanical gardens, this temple can form part of a really nice day excursion for families as well as a very nice cultural experience for those old enough to appreciate it.
