Ubud performance venue Betelnut Café

Ubud performance venue Betelnut Café is a beautiful performance venue for live music, talks, movie screenings and other community events in the heart of Ubud.

I went to Betelnut Café recently when an old friend, Gyan, was playing there as a fundraiser for Rotary and the local AIDS organisation and I found it a very sweet venue.

Gyan’s concert was lovely, quirky as her music has become over the past 10-15 years.

Beautifully done, Betelnut Café in Ubud, Bali has a very large, under-cover courtyard outside with lots of tables, while inside there is a long bar, a stage with lots of space to seat the audience, as well as an upstairs section where you can get a bird’s eye view of the action onstage.

The food available at these events is fairly basic, 25k entrée sized servings of mie goreng, chicken satay, vegetable dishes, all of which are quite tasty.

See the bottom of this page for more photos of Ubud performance venue Betelnut Café.

Inside, as is often the case in Ubud’s more health conscious vibe, is non smoking which makes people happy.

On the walls of Ubud performance venue Betelnut Café are lots of beautiful and poignant photos that tell human stories of hope and despair.

I liked Betelnut Café; it is a very ambitious undertaking with a community empowerment angle and a really good Bali performance venue. Very nice.

Ubud performance venue Betelnut Café has no relation whatsoever to Canggu Betelnut Café although they both opened at similar times.

I saw Gyan in concert there and enjoyed the place and its vibe.
