Firstly, arriving there is unbelievable. There is, at least after 12 midnight, which is really the earliest you wanna go to any Bali nightclub, a queue of traffic about a kilometre long, mostly taxis cruising for trade or dropping off punters, but many cars and bikes also.
There are many Bali bars and Bali nightclubs in the same vicinity, and there are hundreds of people on the street. Aussie teenagers, Bali prostitutes and Bali girls looking for business, guys wanting to sell you anything from viagra, cialis, valium, to something more illegal and infinitely more dangerous in Indonesia; it is quite an experience just being on the street.
I’d say there are 15 bars within earshot, and the music is pumping from all of them, so it’s a cacophony on the street.
Kuta nightclub Skygarden has at least 5 different bars, maybe as many as 8 – I get lost and confused wandering from one to the other – and they are all busy, like jumping busy.
There are literally hundreds of Bali prostitutes looking for business, and they comprise a large portion of the female population in the bars, trying to get someone to buy them a drink and more, and are usually fun to dance with.

Then there is the Skydome, a cavernous bar with a huge dome above that does nothing at all for the acoustics, with the sound deafening. Kids seem to like it though. Oh, most of the clientele are young Aussies with some young Euros chucked in.
I went there one night with a friend and while she could handle the music I had to go upstairs to viewing gallery to wait until her DJ friend started playing.
While I was there a guy tried to pick me up, telling me he was gay and looking for a bule boyfriend for the night. I heard him out until he left to find someone else. See A night to remember in Skygarden for more on this.
Soon after my friend’s friend started playing music and I had a great dance for maybe an hour, and after milling around in the closing time lull, we left, tired and sweaty, and went to get some food.
So I had fun amongst all the intensity of Kuta nightclub Skygarden, one of the more famous Bali nightclubs.
On Sundays they have an ll you can eat buffet upstairs, See Kuta restaurant Skygarden on this site
