Petitenget Thai and Indonesian restaurant Cafe Degan

Petitenget Thai and Indonesian restaurant Cafe Degan closed in 2017 and was a lovely sophisticated Bali Thai restaurant in Petitenget opposite Metis serving quality Thai and Indonesian food.

I have been passed Café Degan hundreds of times over the years but have always been in something of a hurry so have not called in. It is way nicer than I thought it would be from outside, and I will go to eat soon.

Subdued and elegant, Petitenget Thai and Indonesian restaurant Cafe Degan is a classy place, suitable for a nice dinner or a leisurely lunch. It has non smoking and smoking areas.

Café Dengan Petitenget derives its name from the Javanese word for a young coconut, and coconut makes its appearance in many of the items on the menu.

The Indonesian menu has many dishes I have not seen on many other menus so it seems it is more traditional than most Indonesian restaurants. So if you are looking for classy Indonesian food, including a wide variety of vegetarian options, then check Café Degan out.

The Thai menu is large also, with many Thai favourites as well as some obscure dishes I haven’t seen before.

Priced at around 90k for the average main it is not a cheap place but it appears the quality is quite good. I did not eat there so cannot personally vouch for that, but the fact it has survived for so many years without compromising on its ambience says it must be good.

Petitenget Thai and Indonesian restaurant Cafe Degan is a great option for dinner in the Petitenget area if you want either quality Bali Indonesian food or Bali Thai food dining experience.
