This area is the place of partying for the under 30s in Bali, with perhaps 15 full power bars and clubs in a hundred metre strip. Late at night most days of the week this area is teeming with young most Aussie people in full party mode.

The streets become alive with thousands of young adults partying along with a plethora of the PR girls trying to lure customers into their particular establishment, plus the men offering for sale whatever one might desire.

Be warned – sometimes these people are in cahoots with the police, so be very wary of buying anything illegal from them, and of course the Bali girls are always around trying to drum up some business entertaining the young men.

Legian bar and nightclub Engin Room is not a big Bali club, and I was there a bit too early to see it in full swing, but going from the layout of the bar, the big sound, the kind of lighting (see the photos), and the number of male staff/bouncers hovering around, it seems to be a pretty full-on bar that jumps and pumps well into the night.

They have special nights, happy hours and stuff like that, including two for one drinks to get some trade in the early evenings when most places are empty and desperate for some business.

The scene is a bit young for me – nothing like being old enough to be the father of most of the clientele of this strip to make one feel out of place, a bit invisible.

Drinks are moderately priced, and no doubt people who come here have a great time, probably on a night-long bar crawl from one place to the next.
