Kerobokan cafe Tuck and Trap

Kerobokan cafe Tuck and Trap

Kerobokan cafe Tuck and Trap

Kerobokan cafe Tuck and Trap is the first of a row of newly (2015) created Bali cafes and restaurants in brightly coloured shipping containers in the Kerobokan ricefields.

I ride my bike along this road (Jalan Kedampang) often and many times have been attracted by the brightness and ‘localness’ of these ‘container’ buildings and when one afternoon I finally dropped in I was impressed.

Run by young urbane locals, there is a lovely, efficient and energetic vibe here.

Tuck and Trap Café in Kerobokan is bright and funky. The menu is small, with just a few Indonesian dishes including Indonesian meat balls, banana leaf meat wrap, a funky looking tempeh dish, grilled chicken and a rice dish.

This reminded me of an inner city café in the West – the staff were sharp, the service happy and smiling, the coffee good, good internet, and a nice variety of sitting areas although the deck may be too hot when the afternoon sun really kicks in.

At 35k for all meals, this is a good quality cheap Kerobokan restaurant with way more ‘modern funkiness’ (versus the laziness and mental confusion that usually passes for funkiness in Bali!) than one normally associates with restaurants in Bali.

This is a great little spot to drop in at for a quick meal or leisurely coffee. A recommended experience.

Great place to enjoy the sunset. Food is fairly simple and basic, and cheap, drinks OK. Super funky little place, bit of a step up in creativity compared to most other locally run restaurants
