El Kabron restaurant and Beachclub Bali

Bali beachclub and restaurant El Kabron pool sunset

El Kabron restaurant and Beachclub Bali

El Kabron restaurant and Beachclub Bali has become justifiably famous in the three years since it opened on the cliffs of Pecatu near Padand Padang on the west coast of the Bukit in southern Bali.

El Kabron restaurant and Beachclub Bali (not really a beach club as it not on the beach per se, but that’s how they describe themselves) is stunning.

Perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking the beach with direct sunset views, where you can hang on the pool drinking cocktails, El Kabron restaurant and Beachclub Bali has famous couches for sunset viewing and lounging around the pool.

El Kabron restaurant and Beachclub Bali also has a high end Spanish restaurant which exudes sophistication.

El Kabron is modelled on the famous Ibiza beachclubs like Cafe Del Mar which married gorgeous views, pools, super cool music with chic service and boutique menu.

The menu ranges from lots of small plates and tapas at around 90k each to some signature rice dishes that are around the 2-250k range.

We had the perfectly cooked squid, the satay chicken and the chorizo sausage tapas, which was all very nice. Along with a glass of wine and a juice the bill came to around 450k, so not really for the financially faint hearted!

El Kabron restaurant and Beachclub Bali is upmarket, elegant and sophisticated, not a place to go if your pocket is shallow and a great place for a treat, to really get away from the world.

El Kabron restaurant and Beachclub Bali is quite a journey to get to, and we got lost on the way.

We were there on a Sunday and all of the sunset viewing couches were reserved, so if you want one call ahead and book it.

It is hot here, and there is not much in the way of shade, so if you are a bit challenged by intense late afternoon sun, bring a hat and a sarong, and sunscreen.

Personally I found the sun a bit too intense. El Kabron faces directly into the setting sun, and while the view is stunning, it’s intense.

This area in Bali is very dry, so indeed it is like a piece of Spain in the tropics!

The clientele is a mix of Europeans loving working on their tans to affluent Indonesians enjoying some decadance – I watched a table of Indonesians ‘shoot’ carafes of wine which they seemed pleased about in the same way Kuta Aussies scull beer.

Check out their Facebook page for their contact details.
