Batu Belig restaurant and bar Mozaic Beachclub closed in 2016, and is just across the road from the Batu Belig beach in Bali and offered sumptuous comfort and gourmet dining.

Mozaic Beachclub is an upmarket Bali bar, lounge and restaurant with high quality food, sumptuous lounging and a lovely design with lots of cool visuals to engage and relax the eye.

I went to Mozaic Beachclub on a Sunday afternoon for a friend’s birthday and had a very pleasant time. We were not in the restaurant proper, which is upstairs and seems very sophisticated and classy, but in the ground floor lounge/dining/bar area.

There are daybeds around the pool which are, I am sure, available for some silly amount of money for the afternoon. Mind you, you can completely close them if you wish total, visual privacy so that might tickle someone’s fancy.

Drinks were reasonably priced, with beers, usually a good point to do price comparisons, around 50k, while cocktails and reasonable quality wine at OK prices.

I had the sea bass which altogether was a lovely meal though the fish was just so-so, and potatoes undercooked to my taste. Nice flavours though, and at 150k around what I would have expected to pay.

Dining options in the lounge at Mozaic Beachclub is basically based on tapas with a few larger meals chucked in. The menu for the restaurant is on their website.

Batu Belig restaurant and bar Mozaic Beachclub is an offshoot of the world renowned Mozaic restaurant in Ubud and the tradition of fine dining started there continues more in the restaurant section but still influences the experience of the more casual diner.

Mozaic Beachclub is not really in the same league visually as Potato Head or Ku De Ta, but Mozaic Beachclub has the attraction of being more intimate, private and quieter as it is quite off the beaten track.

From what I had heard of Mozaic Beachclub I was expecting something much more grand.

However, it is still nice with some lovely design touches and we had a very pleasant afternoon that rolled into theevening.

Mozaic Beachclub is much smaller than I expected, but then I guess it is more a restaurant than a beach club where people come to swim in the ocean and drink a la the Petitenget beach clubs which after all are only 100 metres away.

Describing itself as a beachclub is not quite true, as it is not on the beach actually, but separated by a road from the sand. There was quite some kids there enjoying the pool and the shady areas.

Nice place for a cruisy afternoon. The DJ must have been deaf though, as the music, while very cruisy and groovy, was at sound levels more suitable to a club, with people straining to hear each other. It dropped back after an hour or so.

Bali restaurant and bar Mozaic beachclub recently won the Wine Spectator award for Excellence which is about diversity of the wine available along with wines that match the menu.

Lovely ambience, very pleasant. Beautiful but not stunning, comfortable without being luxurious.
