Amed restaurant Cafe Garam is a lovely spacious restaurant on the grounds of Hotel Uyah Amed at the western end of the Amed area serving mostly quality Indonesian food.

I dropped into Café Garam Amed with a group for lunch recently and we were all very impressed with our food. The Thai stir fry, the gado gado and the fish were all good value at around 50k each.

Mind you the 21% government tax that it seems resorts attract adds onto the bill considerably. That said, this was still super cheap for what you got and where you were.

Amed restaurant Cafe Garam has a good breakfast menu with substantial packages available for around 65k.

Starters are mostly of a general Asian origin and are pretty interesting. They also do sandwiches and have a selection of Indonesian favourite dishes all around the 65k mark.

Café Garam also have a pizza selection, nothing fancy, along with a basic pasta section, both seemingly designed for kids’ palettes.

Main meals are a mix of Indonesian, classical Western dishes like beef stroganoff, chicken cordon Bleu and grilled fish. At around 65-100k these are quite good value.

Desserts are fairly basic and standard.

We had a lovely lunch there overlooking the lawns and ornaments therein of the hotel grounds. There are also two pool tables there which was fun to see, and again this shows a kid-and parent awareness which I liked.

They are both small tables but in good condition.

I think Amed restaurant Cafe Garam is in the upper 25% of Amed restaurants and is a lovely place for a convivial lunch. Staff are good, service is quite fast, itself a little unusual in Amed, especially in the off season when staff are a bit sleepy. A good Bali restaurant in Amed.
