Where to play pool in Bali
Where to play pool in Bali
Part two of Playing pool in Bali, the following is a collection of places where to play pool in Bali, some restaurants and bars in Bali where I have played. Not a definitive list by any means, this will be added to over time.

Seminyak pool venues
The Seminyak area is probably the area to go to if you like a good game of pool on a quality table mainly because there are so many good options.
See Sports bars in Jakarta for Jakarta’s best bars for playing pool.
See also Playing Pool in Bali for general information, rules and things to be wary of,

Petitenget pool venues
Ubud pool venues
My favourite place to play pool in Ubud is CP Lounge which has two large size tables out the back. On Thursday to Saturday nights these get busy, but mostly they are empty. It is a bit steamy here in the day, but nights are nice.
The locals are pretty good so be wary of gambling!
The Melting Pot is a large pool bar at the bottom of Jalan Hanoman, and has five large size tables and two smaller, Aussie style tables. Cloths are good quality and the cues seem fine. They do pool competitions here each week.
There is also a table tennis table here as well.
In 2016 Ubud restaurant and bar the Shisha Lounge next to the soccer field added two pool tables which are quite nice but cost 20k for a half hour. Inside and quite cool during the day, quite a good place to go with a friend where yoou can own a table for a while without having to fight off challenges.
Benoa and Nusa Dua pool venues
Meads Beach bar and grill has a small table centrally located in their restaurant which I found a bit cramped. Cues etc are good, but it is a bit hard to have a good game here.
The Peninsula sports bar in Benoa is a pretty busy sports bar with a fairly good table which is usually available except during a big sporting event on TV. Not much hustling happening here so a nice relaxed place to play.
Sanur pool venues
Sanur bar On and On is a ‘little’ grungy, with 3 tables, two of which are usually winner stays on while the third is a billiards table, with no pockets, which is unique in Bali in my experience. They also have some TVs showing sport here, and if you are looking for some female companionship…
Arena restaurant and pub has a pretty good table, and it seems to be available most of the time. I do not know about the condition, cues etc.
Sanur sports bar The Onion bar and restaurant, opened early 2015, is possibly Bali’s best pool bar. With three high quality pool tables set in lots of space and good quality balls and cues, The Onion is a step above the usual Bali sports bar. There are 11 TV screens available for live sport.
Denpasar pool venues
Denpasar pool centre The Ship has about 15 good size pool tables and one full size snooker table. In the heart of Denpasar, this is the home of hard core, local pool players. At 41k an hour, this is a great place to get lots of practice in.
Denpasar pool centre Obrigado. Just down the road from The Ship, is a similar Bali pool centre walled Obrigado. This is newish (2015) so the tables are in better condition than The Ship. 31k an hour.
Obrigado is a bit noisy, especially at sunset time – the clientele is a a bit younger, mostly young local guys. Food looks OK though.
Echo Beach and Canggu pool venues
Echo Beach sports bar has a small table right on the street which is also fun to play on.
Amed and Lovina pool venues
Amed restaurant Cafe Garam has two small tables in a serene and relaxed place, good for kids who can learn to play pool as there is hardly ever anyone playing, and then only while they are waiting for their meal.
Amed bar Pacha is a bit more of a bar and has a small table in the corner.
There is not so much a pool culture in Lovina as elsewhere in Bali, more a matter of the restaurant owners wanting to play.
Lovina pool bar Ball and Bar is the only dedicated pool and snooker bar in in the north of Bali. Featuring 3 pool tables (30k/hour) and a full size snooker table (50K/hour) and not much else by way of ambience when I visited in May, this is really the only good place to play pool in Lovina. Good tables and cues.
Lovina restaurant Lumbung is a large bar with live bands playing most nights. The pool table here is small, does not look in top shape but still OK to play. No idea re cues etc.
There are heaps of other pool tables in Bali that I have not played on as I come across worthy venues they will be added on to this article.
