Newly opened, in 2016, in the Merthinadi area also, is Morish Warung. This has really good food at ridiculously low prices. Such as a very nice chicken Pad Thai for 35k! My new fave lunch spot – Pad Thai and a large coconut to drink for 65k is great value!
In the same locality is Kerobokan coffee house Crema Coffee which has some nice baguettes and baked goodies for under 50k to go with your capuccino. They have a wide variety of teas and coffees here, a modern funky little place.
Kerobokan restaurant Sobat II is one of my favourite eating spots just out past the gaol in Kerobokan.
They have a huge a la carte menu with very good fish, chicken, pasta and Indonesian dishes, all under 50k.
This is one of Bali’s busiest restaurants so get in early if you are coming for dinner. Open also for lunch and they do home deliveries. Prices have increased over the years I have been eating there, in some cases double what it was, but it is still a good deal.
Opened mid 2015 is Canting Sobat, owned by the same people and serving the same menu (with the addition of breakfast and pizzas) as Sobat 2. Lovely vibe, quiet inside, past Sobat 2 about 5 minutes, and worth a visit. They closed in an area with glass which has AC so it is much quieter.
Near Canting Sobat, opened in 2016, is Kerobokan restaurant Waroeng D’Carik, a lovely Indonesian Asian restaurant in the Kerobokan ricefields. Most main meals here are under 40k, and the ambience is lovely.
Going a bit further north you come to a busy intersection where there is a local food court called Lupita, where you can eat very cheap (under 30k) local food. Quite a nice vibe here actually, food OK with many stalls.
A bit further out but still classified as being in Kerobokan, on Jl Gatot Subroto, is Ili Kitchen. Good quality food in a clean restaurant in Bali for under 35k is rare. With mostly Indonesian food but with Western style breakfasts, plus capuccino, this is definitely worth a visit if you are the area.
I have looked up and down this road and this is the only halfway decent restaurant within koooeee!
Kerobokan restaurant Warung Jepang is just out past the gaol in Jl Merta Agung and serves a very nice Japanese nasi campur – wholesome and delicious, only open for lunch but a lovely oasis. In 2017 I went past here at lunchtime and it was closed, so maybe ….
Just nearby is Waarung Meengkreb which offers a delicious cap cay for as low as 25k!
Just past Jepang is Kerobokan Indonesian restaurant d’Roemah which is a breezy restaurant on the ricefields.
